Biography

Ebelechukwu B. Nwachukwu is a graduate of University of Benin, Edo State and obtained her master’s degree in business administration from the ESUT Business School. She is an alumna of London Business School's Executive Education program and Columbia Business School in New York and has attended Executive Programmes at the Manchester and Lagos Business Schools.

She started her insurance career in 1994 after the mandatory NYSC and has worked in various capacities with different insurance firms, rising to the position of Managing Directors of Zenith General Insurance and later NSIA Insurance Limited (formerly Royal Exchange General Insurance Company) on December 12, 2022.

A member of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN); Mrs. Nwachukwu also holds membership of the following professional bodies; Chartered Institute of Directors, Nigeria, (CIoD); Nigerian institute of Management (Chartered) and the Personal Finance Society, United Kingdom.

She was awarded a Honorary Ph.D. (Business Administration & Management) from the British American University, Florida, USA in 2021 and is also a Global Business Leadership Award recipient from the Centre for Economic & Leadership Development, presented at the International Conference on Gender and Sustainability, during the 2017 United Nations General Assembly.

Mrs. Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu is currently the Deputy Chairman, Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) as well as Chairman, Communication & Stakeholders’ Management Sub-Committee, Insurers Committee. She was previously the Chairman, Local Organizing Committee, Africa Insurance Women Association (AIWA) Inaugural Conference 2024; AIO Organizing Committee – AIO 2021, (hosted in Nigeria); and Chairman, NIA House Project.
